Every blog has a hiccup or two, and my first one just happened. Yes, I’m human, just like some of you. My personal demon is time-management, coupled with a healthy dose of priority management. But that’s all changed.
My new plan is as follows: schedule blogging time. What does this mean? Well, it means that during the week I will carve out at least an hour for blogging. It may not be the same time every week, but it’s going to be better that way. Who watches the blogger? Google Calendar. Lately, it’s been my trusty watchdog for time management and what a dog it is. With to-do lists it’s completely arbitrary: if I don’t finish a task, I’ll just do it tomorrow. But with a calendar chiding you for failed attempts, it’s a lot easier to stay on course. Lifehacker had a pretty nice run down on the same idea a while back.
As for the blog itself, well I hope that it will contain a bit more than just the dry programming side. Much like a lot of the blogs I enjoy reading, I will try to share a few of my non-tech hobbies too. Mostly that might mean pictures that I’ve taken, but I might also slide in some musical goodies from time to time. We’ll see!
